The Dandy Warhols – bohemian alt-rockers
Best known for their 2001 hit "Bohemian Like You", The Dandy Warhols have been at the forefront of Portland’s alt-rock scene since the mid-1990s. Take a look at the various The Dandy Warhols tickets currently on offer on StubHub.
From David Bowie to Dig!
Frontman Courtney Taylor-Taylor first teamed up with Zia McCabe (keyboards), Eric Hedford (drums) and Peter Holmström (guitar) to form The Dandy Warhols in 1994. The group soon became regulars on their Portland hometown’s live scene and a year later issued their first studio effort, "Dandys Rule OK". Released through Capitol Records, 1997 sophomore "… The Dandy Warhols Come Down" spawned an Aussie Top 50 hit before Brent DeBoer replaced founding member Hedford. Released in 2000, "Thirteen Tales from Urban Bohemia" received a major boost a year later when lead single "Bohemian Like You" became a TV commercial soundtrack favourite. A support slot with David Bowie followed, while in 2003 they teamed up with Duran Duran’s Nick Rhodes on "Welcome to the Monkey House". A year later their love-hate relationship with Brian Jonestown Massacre was famously documented in "Dig!", while the band went on to score Billboard 200 entries with 2005’s "Odditorium or Warlords of Mars", 2008’s "… Earth to the Dandy Warhols…" and 2012’s "This Machine". Their tenth studio effort, "Why You So Crazy", hit shelves in 2019. You can both buy and sell The Dandy Warhols tickets on StubHub now.
A raw and raucous rock and roll show
The Dandy Warhols may have scored a number of chart hits and appeared on countless TV soundtracks, but, having cut their teeth on America’s underground garage scene, they still know how to put on a raw and raucous rock and roll show. And with the brooding tones, chiselled features and natural charisma of Courtney Taylor-Taylor, they still possess one of today’s most effortlessly cool frontmen. Fans of the group’s driving blend of krautrock, synth-pop and garage rock should expect to hear all the hits from their commercial heyday including "Every Day Should Be a Holiday", "We Used to Be Friends", "You Were the Last High" and, of course, "Bohemian Like You". But the highlights from their more recent run of studio efforts are just as likely to get the audience jumping up and down.
