Machine Head background
The metal thrash band Machine Head formed in 1991 in Oakland, California. The band was formed by two ex- "Vio-Lence" members Robert Flynn and Adam Duce and there have been numerous lineup changes to the band over the years. The band's aggressive music helped them stand out and ensured they were one of the pioneering band to come out of the new wave of heavy metal that was taking over America. The current Machine Head band members are Robb Flynn, Phil Demmel, Jared MacEachern and Dave McClain. Out of the current members, Flynn is the only original member that is still part of the band. In total, there have been nine Machine Head albums. The band's debut album Burn My Eyes was released in 1994 and started the band on their quest for global supremacy. Since then, Machine Head have gone through numerous changes in personnel and musical style. The other albums are The More Things Change (1997), The Burning Red (1999), Supercharger (2001), Through the Ashes of Empires (2003), The Blackening (2007), Unto the Locust (2011), Bloodstone & Diamonds (2014) and the new Machine Head album Catharsis (2018).
