BRIT Awards and Broken Strings
Born in the West Midlands in 1984, singer and guitarist James Morrison was inspired to pursue a career in music by various classical soul men including Otis Redding, Al Green and Stevie Wonder. He first came to attention in 2006 when debut single "You Give Me Something" reached the Top 10 in both the UK and Australia, with parent album "Undiscovered" also topping the charts in his homeland and reaching the Top 40 in the United States. A Best British Male gong at the BRIT Awards followed before Morrison released 2008’s multi-platinum "Songs for You, Truths for Me", scoring a massive hit with Nelly Furtado duet "Broken Strings". Morrison continued his winning streak with 2011’s second UK Number One LP "The Awakening", while Olly Murs, Demi Lovato and Kelly Clarkson were just some of the major pop names to utilise his songwriting talents. Following 2015’s "Higher Than Here", Morrison took a break from the industry before returning triumphantly four years later with fifth studio effort "You’re Stronger Than You Know".
