Bring Me The Horizon background
Originally founded by Oliver Sykes, Matt Nicholls and Lee Malia the three of them shared a common interest in metal bands, with Malia already having been a part of a Metallica tribute band. Forming the band in their late teens, the name Bring Me The Horizon came about from a quote in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, in which Captain Jack Sparrow closes the film with “Now, bring me that horizon.” The band quickly managed to fit into the emo trend that was dominating the mid-2000s and, after signing with Visible Noise record label, released their debut album Count Your Blessing in 2006.
Since then, Bring Me The Horizon have gone on to release four further album - Suicide Season (2008), There Is a Hell, Believe Me I've Seen It. There Is a Heaven, Let's Keep It a Secret (2010), Sempiternal (2013), and That's The Spirit (2015). The band are also set to release their sixth album in 2019. Amo is scheduled for release in January 2019 and the group have already released the lead single from the upcoming album - "Mantra", which debuted at number one on the UK Rock & Metal Chart.
